Refund Policy

LocalyDrive.com – Car Rental Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 20 June 2025

At LocalyDrive.com, we understand that travel plans can change. Our refund policy is designed to be fair and transparent while respecting the policies of our local car rental partners.


1. General Refund Conditions

Refunds may be issued under the following conditions:

  • You cancel your booking within the allowed cancellation window set by the provider.

  • The car rental provider cancels the booking due to unavailability or operational issues.

  • You are eligible for a partial or full refund, depending on the provider’s terms.


2. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policies vary depending on each rental provider. In general:

  • More than 48 hours before pickup: Full refund (excluding processing fee, if any)

  • Less than 48 hours before pickup: Partial refund or subject to provider’s discretion

  • No-show or late arrival: No refund

Please review the specific cancellation terms provided at the time of booking.


3. Refund Processing Time

  • Refunds will be processed within 7–14 business days after approval.

  • Refunds will be returned via the original payment method only.

  • Any processing fees or bank charges are non-refundable, unless stated otherwise.


4. Non-Refundable Cases

  • Bookings marked as “Non-Refundable” at the time of reservation

  • Failure to provide required documents (ID, driver’s license, etc.) at pickup

  • Failure to meet age or eligibility criteria

  • Booking cancellation due to customer policy violations (e.g. driving under the influence, misuse of vehicle)

Include your booking reference number and reason for refund in your request.


6. Policy Updates

We reserve the right to update this refund policy at any time. All changes will be posted on this page and apply to future bookings

Important Information

Franchise

An incident deductible is AUD 3000.00 including tax.
Car Theft Franchise is AUD 3000.00 including tax.

Collateral at the front desk

A car rental company is required to provide a deposit of AUD 3000.00 upon receipt of the car. The mortgage will be returned after the end of the lease, if all conditions are fulfilled.

Mileage / Kilometers

Your rental includes an unlimited number of free miles.

Age requirements

The minimum rental age for this car is 18 years.

Getting a car

Passport or ID is required.
An international driver’s license is required if the national driver’s license is not printed in English.

Payment methods

The primary driver must have a credit card in his / her name when picking up the car. The card must have sufficient funds available to cover the amount of the deductible / down payment (which will be blocked on the card during the rental).

Cash and debit cards are not accepted.

Insurance

Insurance coverage

Collision damage waiver (CDW): Includes 20% tax; Excess 1,205 GBP

Theft waiver (TW): Includes 20% tax; Excess 1,205 GBP

Third party liability protection (TP): Includes 20% tax; Maximum Coverage Unlimited.

The Excess Liability is the amount determined by the car rental supplier for which you can be held liable in case of damage/theft of the vehicle. Damage to or loss of tyres, windscreens, glass and undercarriage may not be covered by the CDW (Collision Damage Waiver). Please check with the rental agent at the desk.

If you purchase the Excess Reimbursement Insurance from a third party, the main driver will be required to present their credit card at the rental desk in order for the car rental agent to authorize the deposit.
